Do arts students have it easy?
Just finished my first paper (an arts paper). Don't wanna jinx it, but.. it was a breeze. Honestly, if all my life sci papers were like that, I would be a cap 5.0 pointer by now. But unfortunately, they're not. *sob* Anyway, should be heading home soon for some R&R (no puking please!), next paper's on Wed. Then after that Mon will be my last paper, then I'll be freeee, well not completely. There's still lab and all, but at least my darling will be free! HAha, then we can go out and watch Harry Potter and gorge ourselves on pizza and calamari and snuggle in bed watching SATC till the sun goes down. *ahh.. wistful sigh*
And I'll be able to meet up with all me buddies too! For drinks, dinner, lunch, breakfast, desserts, suppers! *wonders why everything revolves around food* Ok, I'll add in SHOPPING, beachinG!, rollerblading! Ppl pls await my sms. :) It's too bad that Malaysian trip turned out to be a flop tho. So hard to get everyone's schedules to match. Then there's the money issue. Perhaps should just save up and go on graduation trip.. backpacking across Australia/NZ? :D I want my backpack to be the one that rolls around on wheels tho, hahaha. A floating backpack that follows me wherever I go wouldn't be too bad an idea too. But what an adventure that will be.. *looks toward future*
But perhaps should start finding a job first :S ARgh, the reality of life!

Can don't work meh? *frown*
That's Vincent, one of the guys from Seaworld. hehe, he's super tall and gangly, but a nice chap indeed :P Good drinking/supper kahki. Ah, time to pack up and go home!!!! I miss my mummy's cooking already!

Does puke have to smell bad?

This is the entrance of Seaworld. Those seals are fake by the way, but they do look real so I don't blame you if you were fooled. They even have superficial waves!
I hate it when people assume. Don't assume if you don't know.
That was just something I had to vent out. Anyway, my apparent R&R turned out to be a night of stomach-turning events as I proceeded to puke out my seafood dinner with absolute gusto on 4 occasions. Once in the toilet of the shopping centre which housed the nasty restaurant, once outside the shopping centre while waiting for a cab, once in the cab, and once more at home. The nasty restaurant afore mentioned is named Manhattan Fish Market, and the shopping centre it's housed in is Plaza Singapura (is it Singapura or Singapore?). Anyway, it may not be entirely the restaurant's fault cos all my fellow females who ate exactly the same thing as me did not even flinch a stomach muscle. So maybe it's just me. :S
Anyway, so sorry girls for spoiling the evening with unglamorous puke and stink. Was real touched by the way they took care of me tho'. Especially how Dris assisted me in the art of puking, by rubbing my back and making gagging noises. Hahaha. And for Beidi for running to 7-E getting me the plastic bag which DEFINITELY came in handy and a bottle of water. And for Joycee for calling the cab which came in 7.24 minutes and for Shan for just being there and showing concern. :) Will make up for it by organizing an outing after exams ok! Hopefully we'll manage to make it to Clarke/Boat Quay for those elusive drinks. Was not supposed to go anyway, but as Joyce said in the cab.. Dris made me "GIAN" to go. Haha.. so whose fault huh? :P
The air in YIH is stale. And occasionally wafting of the stink of feet. There are so many characters we've come to be familiar with after studying there these few days and watching who comes and goes. There's Ahlian who YJ has the hots for and her not-too-bad-looking boyfriend, they belong to a whole group of Rafflesians who occupy the table in front of us. Then there's this really dirty fella who sits diagonally to the left. It's HIS FEET from where the putrid smell wafts from. And he has these awful yellow long fingernails which he occasionally uses to dig his face, already filled with pockmarks. And the floor beneath him is strewn with rubbish as well as his stinky socks from where more abhorrent odours emnate! And he is there literally the whole day and night. He naps there, alongside his podgy girlfriend, I don't know how she can stand his smelly feet!! Then there's the usual bunch of China girls who conscientiously come early in the morning and sit upright doing real work without so much of a blink of an eye. THEN of course there are those delicious dragon-boater dudes in their IVP jackets who occasionally come in now and then and spend the day in the room with their laptops. The laptops of course usually distract the hunks from work and they end up playing Pac-Man, punching a muscular fist in the air in victory when they overcome all the scary colourful ghost monster thingys. It's all rather amusing. Then at night the "dark-knights" appear, making the place just a little bit noisier with the feet-dragging and constant chit-chatting (not in whispered tones).
Just 13 more days to freedom!!!! 15 to MaMbO! :D

Doesn't everyone miss Seaworld?

Do I have to study?

This is somewere in Citywalk, Universal Studios, Orlando. One margarita to go please! Caught people sipping Margaritas outside Cha Cha Cha's last night and it absolutely drove me up the wall knowing I couldn't plop myself down and sip on one throughout the night! *grumble*
Laptop is giving me the scares. I switch her on and she starts up, but suddenly her screen will go black and the word Fan Error pops up and it shuts down by itself. I think something's wrong with the fan. Hah, duh. Well a few good knocks and she's back on her feet again :P Gentle knocks lar.
Been all cooped up in a big room filled with my fellow men and women, boring their eyes into powerpoint slide notes and thick textbooks, hoping information will magically seep into their brains and remain there long enough for them to spew it all out when required. This process is getting old. It's been four long years, I've done this for approximately 7 times. Oh me lord, save me from this agony! And it's funny how the place is like Chinatown in the morning and Little India late at night. I shall refrain from elaborating for fear of censorship :S It's strange tho, how this country has such strict values, even going so far as to arrest people for expressing their thoughts online. Which is frankly, a part of one's human rights I feel. I suppose it gets read and may have consequential results, but if this were America, no one would give a shit about what a sole person has to say on his 'blog' unless he/she's a celebrity of some sorts. As one of my American leads in Seaworld once asked me after I told him we ban chewing gum, so is the government a dictatorship? And he was actually seriously asking. Hah. I strongly objected of course and laughed at how mistaken he was, until I realised, haha, well, we're not that far off come to think of it. Minus the violence, the evil plans to rule the world, and the torture and suffering.. Ok, I better stop. :x
Going out for some R&R soon. Whee! Laters!

Can I be Rory Gilmore for a day?

This is Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center buildings used to stand. People stand by the sidelines looking at the empty space, posters and timelines remind of us what happened that day. And heroes' names are forever engraved and remembered.

Been ages I know, but inspiration didn't hit me, so yeah. I just realised ALOT of the people I see everyday have blogs. Haha. There's a whole community of life sci kids with blogs and I didn't even know it. Owell, more interesting I suppose, can read what's going on in other life-sciency lives. Boring life-sciency lives.. urgh.
Boyfriend is stressing out and may be resorting to taking caffeine/taurine pills. His capacity for caffeine is horrifying, 10 scoops of coffee powder at one shot?! I worry for him. But what can I do? He's so intent on not sleeping for 6 days in a row just to study and make sure he doesn't fail. And I can't provide any alternative that may possibly help. Apparently, men are cavemen anyway. They go into their little caves and figure things out themselves and then emerge when they've 'solved' the problem. And there's absolutely no point changing them, cos they're just born that way :|
Exams are in less than 2 weeks time. Honestly, I have never been so prepared for any exam ever in my life. Well almost. I think I was pretty prepared in sec sch/jc, don't remember any stressing out problems then. Uni life is full of distractions. But fun distractions. :P Well maybe not fun all the time. Last night roomies and I watched 2 episodes of Gilmore girls in a row. And I so love Rory Gilmore's hair, and her round glassy eyes, and her height and slenderness, she looks like a life-sized porcelain doll. And that show is so witty, I cannot stand it. No normal Singaporean talks like that, yet I wish some would, it would make life so much more entertaining. I think I'm a sucker for conversations. Just last wkend I was criticizing boyfriend for talking about shallow superficial stuff and even though he does (heh), its not exactly his fault, cos right now his life is shallow and superficial. Its all study, sleep, wake up, go out with me, jcrc, and that's it, he has no time for other friends, or reading the newspapers, or what not. I guess he's right, but somehow I think I'm always looking for that perfect conversationalist. And you know that whole image of your ideal soulmate? Yar he would be my ideal conversationalist. He would be funny, witty, yet silly and stupid sometimes, informative, comforting, understanding, listening, and crazy. Just think a whole mix of Chandler from Friends, Seth from The OC, and the entire Gilmore Girl cast. Think one will probably go nuts trying to keep up with what my ideal man would be saying. Boyfriend can be witty at times, but his whole world seems so material it gets a bit unnerving. He wants that big apartment overlooking the city skyline, with the plasma TVs, the BMW, the wedding on a ship. I'm not saying all that is wrong. But all I would be satisfied with is a small apartment, my tv, my dog(s), a cup of hot cocoa, and frequent beer-drinking sessions with my mateys. And that I guess, is where our main difference lies.
Planning a Cameron/Genting trip in December. Hope it'll be fun, hope it materializes. Haha. I will make it materialize. Am falling in love with Jack Johnson's voice and his fingers, his amazing guitar-strumming fingers. I swear, it would be so cool to date a musician. No Justin Trousersnakes (why do they call him that?) tho please! Alrighty, study hard people!
