Back with a vengeance

Good weekend to all! Sorry if you haven't been hearing much from me. I have just been uninspired to blog. One of my colleague's (my present cubicle-mate, the last one recently left for another job, present one is a girl from UK) boyfriend once mentioned over lunch that he doesn't understand the whole mania of blog-keeping. Why would anyone want to let the whole world know what they're up to, in fact why would anyone want to read about what another has done today or went today or tried out today? Are humans naturally curious kay-poh creatures? Or is it just us Singaporeans because he asked everyone of us at the lunch table, and we ALL admitted to keeping blogs. And I really do wonder how much the internet can take. I still have no idea how the internet works really. Where does all the information one chucks out into cyberspace get stored? And where does that endless capacity come from? *question mark?*

Anyway, I admit to being kaypoh. Especially in my friends' lives. Haha. So they have every right to kaypoh into my life also. But I haven't really been up to much.. its just work as usual. Did I mention I bought a new pair of roller-blades? K2 skates with pweety blue flowers on 'em. And now we blade almost every saturday morning, whole bunch of us.. bebe and her guy friend :P, labmate and his girlfriend, and me with either adrian (er, that's my boyfriend's name btw, realised I never really mentioned it), or when he can't make it, other friends who are ons for it. Alotta Singaporeans are taking up blading nowadays, you hardly see people on bikes anymore.. haha, well almost. And its nice to wheel and glide along effortlessly with the wind in your hair and sun on your shoulders. Maybe sometimes a little more effort is required on the upslopes, but the downslopes are pretty fun, albeit slightly dangerous especially if you encounter an evil seed. Damn those evil seeds!

Oh and I also bought an external mobile 60GB hard-drive to store all my music and photos (it's like having my own mini-cyberspace). It's sleek black and has blue ah-beng blinking lights. :D Cool ainit?

Now the boyfriend's hoping I can install warcraft on my laptop and play with him *rolls eyes*. Oh he finally passed his driving test. Woohoo! Which means midnight drives along the beach, oily suppers against his will, and no more rushing for the last bus/train anymore! *dances ard*

I feel like going to Thailand to look up my Thai girlfriends and go party, shopping and sight-seeing. But everyone will be busy studying for exams and doing their projects. I may end up going to Redang or somewhere with the family. Which reminds me to quickly send my documents to get my dive card! I was procrastinating on sending my details because I didn't want to send my tsunami-striken-looking photo. Recently took a more decent photograph and just look at the difference. The photo on the right was taken for my US visa at novena, when I was in a rush, sweaty and hot, and apparently with no make-up on. Ugh. Don't I just look like an illegal immigrant for some godforsaken dingy little corner of the world?

Another random pic.. of my nails a few weeks ago. Finally used that manicure/pedicure voucher you girls gave me. Was one big pampering session man, had the soles of my feet scrubbed, had all the dead skin around my toes pincered out meticulously, and the same with my hands.. minus the scrubbing. Picked a pretty lavender shade which wouldn't be obvious when it started to peel.

Went for yet another company party over the weekend.. this one was pretty fun cos we had to dress up with a wacky acessory. I wore giraffe ears.. there was an afro hair, a cat lady, tonnes of bunnies, and a man in a kilt! Will post pictures up next time. Too lazy tonight.. anyway, its my mummy's bday tomorrow.. Happy Birthday Mommy dearest! *kiss kiss hug hug*

Ai Kun liao... nites.

The MRT commuters

Settling into the doldrums of working life. Getting a bit tired with the monotony of it all. It has come to the extent that I am beginning to recognise the same people who come onto the trains every morning, at the same time, the same cabin, and the same old familiar habits. There's that religious older man, 40-ish, always pretty loaded with bags of documents, listening to his mp3 player, nokia phone tucked on his belt. And as the train passes by the buddhist temples at Aljunied station, he raises his hands, palms touching each other, and prays as the train passes by, changing the direction of his body to always face the temple. He even makes a little diamond shape with his fingers and touches it to his forehead. I have no idea what it's supposed to mean, but I'm pretty moved by his dedication to his faith to the point of being willing to engage some pretty odd stares early in the morning.

Then there's that young woman who always sits by the corner. Face fully made-up, eyes closed in a deep slumber. The only thing is, its painful to watch her sleep. Because her head is swaying as she enjoys herself in dreamland, and knocks against the walls that surround her. And it isn't little bumps, but big loud knocks that make you jump and cringe in pain for the poor girl. The worrying thing is it doesn't seem to affect her and she just sleeps right through it. :\ The same girl was observed by my colleague, along with the same painful behaviour similarly felt by my compassionate department-mate.

Other people I normally see, very made-up well-dressed middle-aged lady, quite pretty with big eyes and long lashes. Thankfully no strange behaviour on her part. And other old aunties with their baggy black pants, hot business exec chicks with LV bags and nice shoes, men in shirts (hardly any REALLY good-looking ones though, they probably own cars), and old men in shorts and t-shirts (prob heading to chinatown to hang with their pals at the kopi-tiam). Yeap, it's back to work again tml and I'm going to see all of them again. hah.

Niteynites!

Don't waste your youth

Good evening folks

It's a friday night cum saturday morning and I'm chillin in my room. I had no plans this friday night, but it turned out pretty fun. I love spontaneity. Went out with my colleagues for dinner and some shopping at bugis street. Bugis street surprised me. I've never really shopped there before, only walked through the main aisle and out the other side to head towards sim lim square or somewhere or other. This time we really went walking through all the tiny aisles lined with tiny shops that sold a colourful array of ahlian clothes and accessories galore. And I had no idea there was a 2nd and 3rd level! Air-conditioned! With more shops and food! Dang.. hehe. Anyway, I bought a belt for 8 bucks, its thin, brown and has metal studs on it, good for work and for play.. I hope. Heh.

Anyway, the interesting and funny part came later, when we chanced upon Breko's! OMG, BREKO's! Giver of 2 for $10 Stella Artois beers, spreader of joy, elation and all-in-one shiokness of feeling the ice cold bubbly sweet yet bitter sensation coursing down my throat. Aaahhhhh~~~~ And it is there where dirty little secrets came spilling out, and evil plans were devised to counter, tame and conquer the typical male species *rubs hands with glee and anticipation*. Such interesting stories are the lives of people. It's pretty cool to devise a plan, come up with a hypothesis, a proposition, where a slight change in behaviour may lead to tweaking of the relationship towards the direction you want it to go. All in a day's work :D

The boyfriend's too busy with hall orientation this weekend to meet up. Ah well, I guess I should be accustomed to it since he's gonna be busy the whole of next year doing his honours year project. Mmm. I think I should sign up for something real soon. Like boxing class or hip hop or SOMETHING to keep me occupied as well as healthy. I haven't run in ages ever since I scrapped my knee. It's a scab now with the edges turned up, just beckoning me to accelerate the peeling process. Grr!

Bebe's having so much fun in Perth and she can't help but gloat to me about it on msn (-_-)'' I think bebe's the person I've travelled the most with and had the most fun with :D Just looking at all our photos now.. Perhentian, New York, Orlando... Man I miss Orlando, I even miss shopping at Publix! And SeaWorld, the fireworks, the theme songs. Sigh it seemed so long ago, but yet the memories are as vivid as ever. I'm thankful to the person who invented photography because a picture says a thousand words and never fails to bring us back to the time, the location and most of all the feel of that special moment. Here's to many more travels ahead .. *chink*

Nite's ppl!
